Research and Development Division (India) - Part of a Global Platform

BASF is a research-based company. For the past 140 years, our company has given utmost importance to basic research and a number of important inventions are to BASF's credit.

The R&D Centre at BASF India's Thane site in Mumbai is a part of BASF's Global Technology Platform. Central to the Platform are: Speciality Chemicals Research, Polymer Research, Plant Biotechnology Research, and - founded by Nobel Prize winner Carl Bosch - Chemicals Research and Engineering ("Ammonlabor"). The scope of the Central Research Laboratories is vastly widened by numerous co-operations with universities and scientific institutions all over the world. Recently, the R&D Centre of BASF India and a second research facility in the United States became part of the Global Platform. These two centers now form an integral part of BASF's research activities and are full members of the research network. Even in research, BASF is really a global player!

For our Indian Research & Development Division, we are looking for

Position: Senior Scientist

Qualification:
The applicant holds a Ph.D. from a renowned institute (in India or abroad) with strong background in synthetic organic chemistry. The applicant gained academic experience abroad, e.g. Ph.D. or postdoctoral work in Germany, Switzerland, the United States, Great Britain, etc. Several years of R&D experience in industry, preferably R&D of a MNC will be an advantage.

Competencies:
The candidate must possess strong leadership, project management, and interpersonal skills. He/she will be able to establish a network and to get familiar with the Global R&D Platform. The position demands strong analytical and decision making ability. Candidates must be result oriented and quality conscious. Knowledge of German language would be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• To be the link to BASF's Global R&D Network
• To lead a research group in India
• To acquire and develop new research projects.
• To control budgets and timelines

Positions: Research Assistant, Research Associate, Scientist

Qualification:
The applicant is a fresh or experienced M.Sc. with synthetic organic background from a renowned institute in India or abroad. He/she has a record of excellent performance. Openings are available at all three levels; offers will be commensurate with the candidates experience.

Competencies:
The candidate must possess good interpersonal skills, be result oriented, and quality conscious.

• Bench scale synthetic organic chemistry under the supervision of a scientist
