Net Profit up by 61%

BASF India Limited has reported net sales of Rs.459.17 crores (previous period Rs.326.45 crores) an increase of 41% for the nine months ended 31st December 2001 over the corresponding period of the previous year. The profit before tax for the nine months period ended 31st December 2001 went up by 21% and profit after tax of Rs.30.92 crores (previous period Rs.19.24 crores) increased by 61%.

For the quarter ended 31st December 2001, net sales of Rs.143.85 crores (previous quarter Rs.105.59 crores) increased by 36% over the corresponding quarter of previous year. Profit after tax for the quarter ended 31st December 2001 increased by 35%.The current quarter results include the sales from erstwhile Cyanamid Agro Limited consequent to its amalgamation with BASF India Limited w.e.f. 1st April 2001.

It is also involved in the marketing of chemicals and rendering of technical services to various industries.
